Marian University presents the inaugural Hilaritas: A Christmas Festival Concert on Friday, December 7, and Saturday, December 8, at 7:30 p.m. in the Marian University Theatre in Marian Hall. The performances will celebrate Christmas with joyful music and feature Marian University’s Saxophone Quartet, Chamber Singers, Sacred Choir, Show Choir, and Concert Band.
Hilaritas is open to the public, at no charge.
“Hilaritas” is a Greek word that translates loosely into “Live joyfully, and be proud of what you are!” Like the sign of the fish, early Christians used “Hilaritas” as a password. Come to Hilaritas: A Christmas Festival Concert and celebrate joyful holiday music with the Marian University community!
At the end of the evening, the combined ensembles and the audience will sing a suite of holiday carols:
- Hark! The Herald Angels Sing
- God Rest Ye Merry, Gentlemen
- The First Noel
- Deck The Halls
See program for details.
