American Wars For and Against the World - 11/10/2012

Raymond Haberski, Jr., Ph.D.The Richard G. Lugar Franciscan Center for Global Studies will host "American Wars For and Against the World: Does the United States Have an Exceptionalist View of War," a lecture by Raymond Haberski Jr., Ph.D. on Tuesday November 13, at 7 p.m. The lecture will be held in the Marian University Theatre and is open to the public at no charge, but registration is required.

Dr. Haberski is an associate professor of history and chair of the Department of History and Social Science at Marian University. For the 2008–09 academic year he held the Fulbright Danish Distinguished Chair in American Studies at the Copenhagen Business School.

The author of four books, including God and War: American Civil Religion Since 1945, Dr. Haberski’s current project is a book for the Academy of American Franciscan History entitled “Evangelization to the Heart.” He is a founding member of the Society for United States Intellectual History (S-USIH) and a regular contributor to the S-USIH awarding-winning blog.

This lecture is part of the Global Studies Speaker Series presented by The Richard G. Lugar Franciscan Center for Global Studies. The center promotes the study of contemporary global issues with special attention to Marian University's core Franciscan values. The Global Studies Speaker Series and other public events bring central Indiana's increasingly international and multi-cultural community onto the Marian University campus.
