Due to severe weather on the east coast, Wyche Fowler's lecture scheduled for October 29 has been postponed to November 5, 2012.
The Richard G. Lugar Franciscan Center for Global Studies will host "Saudi Arabia, Iran, and the Arab Spring," a lecture by Wyche Fowler Jr. on Monday, November 5, at 7 p.m. Fowler is a former United States congressman and former ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The lecture will be held in the Marian University Theatre and is open to the public at no charge, but registration is required.
Fowler was appointed United States Ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia by President Bill Clinton in August 1996 and served in that position until April 2001. Upon completion of his ambassadorial duties, the Federal Bureau of Investigation awarded him its highest civilian honor, The Jefferson Cup, for his assistance in combating terrorism and for helping solve the terrorism crimes against our military in Saudi Arabia.
This lecture is part of the Global Studies Speaker Series presented by The Richard G. Lugar Franciscan Center for Global Studies. The center promotes the study of contemporary global issues with special attention to Marian University's core Franciscan values. The Global Studies Speaker Series and other public events bring central Indiana's increasingly international and multi-cultural community onto the Marian University campus.
