A new location, a new concentration, and new courses are coming to Marian’s Adult Programs. Here is a brief summary of the changes which were outlined in a recent letter mailed to all MAP students. For another copy of this informative letter or for answers to questions you may have, be sure to contact your academic advisor.
MAP will begin offering classes at Lawrence Central High School on East 56th Street just off I-465, in Term 1. This should prove to be a popular and convenient location for current students and new students alike. We have discontinued classes at Hamilton Southeastern High School in Fishers.
Students in the bachelor’s degree program may want to consider entrepreneurship as a concentration. BUS 353: Small Business Management, a course that has been in MAP’s curriculum for some time, along with three new courses, Foundations of Entrepreneurship, Creativity and Change, and Business Creation and Development Capstone, make up the entrepreneurship concentration. BUS 262: Foundations of Entrepreneurship will be offered for the first time in Term 2.
Another new course offered this fall is BUS 290: Business Career Seminar. If you are seeking a job or wanting to transition into a new career or field, BUS 290 is a must. This new career development course provides students with tools needed to guide a self-directed career exploration process. It will help students by encompassing more than simply responding to employment ads and hoping to land the dream job. This course is offered in Term 3 at the main campus.
