The Hawn Foundation's signature educational program, MindUP, is a set of social, emotional, and self-regulatory strategies and skills developed for pre-K through eighth grade students to cultivate well-being and emotional balance. The MindUp curriculum has been proven to reduce stress and anxiety, improve concentration and academic performance, gain greater self-awareness, reduce bullying, and secure greater happiness, optimism, and resiliency.

Marian University is collaborating with The Hawn Foundation to bring MindUP to the greater Indianapolis area and promote innovative approaches to teaching. MindUP skills transcend the classroom and students can translate them to all social situations: at home, with friends, and anywhere they might make a potentially bad choice. In addition, the MindUP strategies are concrete and compatible with the Indiana state standards.
