Dr. Anita Siccardi, the dean of Marian University's School of Nursing, has received fellowship status from the National Gerontological Nursing Association (NGNA) in recognition of her significant contributions to gerontological nursing.
Dr. Anita Siccardi
Siccardi is a well-respected expert on nursing practices related to caring for the elderly. She founded the Central Indiana Gerontological Nursing Association, is past president of the Board of Directors of the Central Indiana Council on Aging, and a former board member of the NGNA. She helped establish the wellness program at St. Augusting Home for the Aged in Indianapolis. Siccardi has published a variety of articles on aging and elder care, and participated in research related to chronic illness, depression and social isolation, and spirituality in older adults.
About NGNA Fellows
NGNA Fellows are supporters of the missio and goals of the NGNA, links between NGNA and other nursing gerontology organizations, and advocates for aging and health issues in cooperation with NGNA. In addition, Fellows function as a body of elders who generously offer their talents and abilities to the organization as needed and requested by the NGNA Board of Directors.
