On Tuesday, March 23, at 7 p.m., The Richard G. Lugar Franciscan Center for Global Studies will host a lecture entitled “The Cuba-Indy Relationship: Building Church Solidarity” in the Mother Theresa Hakelmeier Memorial Library Auditorium on the Marian University campus. This lecture is sponsored by Catholic Relief Services and is part of the Global Studies Speakers Series sponsored by Citizens Energy Group.
This lecture will feature Lynn Renner, who has served Catholic Relief Services (CRS) in many roles since 1972 and currently serves as regional representative for the Caribbean/Cuba country manager, supporting CRS programs in the Caribbean and directing the agency’s work in Cuba, in partnership with the Cuban Catholic Church.

He served in the Peace Corps in Colombia, South America, where he started his CRS career and continued to work and reside throughout the 70’s and 80’s. He has served as CRS country representative in Chili, Peru, the Dominican Republic, and Guatemala. In 1994, he took on the role of planned giving director for CRS in Baltimore, leading the agency’s strategy to offer donors long-term giving options.
