James E. Rogers, the 2009 Marian College commencement speaker, is seeking public input for his commencement address.
Now through May 6, 2009, Rogers invites everyone to post their ideas on a special blog.
Rogers is the chairman of the board, president, and chief executive officer of Duke Energy, a North Carolina-based Fortune 500 electric power company that is the largest electricity provider in Indiana. Rogers was recently named to the Global Elite list, a ranking of 50 influential individuals compiled by Newsweek magazine. He has more than 20 years of experience as chief executive officer in the electric utility industry and more than 40 years of experience serving on the boards of Fortune 500 companies.
Commencement will take place on May 9, 2009, at 10 a.m. at the Allen Whitehill Clowes Amphitheater; it is the 72nd and final commencement of Marian College. Marian College will become Marian University on July 1, 2009.
