The Sisters of St. Francis, Oldenburg, the founders and long-time sponsors of Marian College, recently announced that they have decided to renew their commitment of sponsorship at Marian College.
“We are proud of all that has been accomplished since we moved the college to Indianapolis in 1937,” said Sr. Jean Marie Cleveland, a member of the congregation and vice president for mission effectiveness at Marian College. “Through our sponsorship, we foster a deeper understanding of the teachings of St. Francis and become stewards of our faith tradition.”
Daniel J. Elsener, president of Marian College, commented, “We are ever so grateful for the Sisters’ commitment to our progress. As we journey toward becoming Marian University, I humbly ask for the their most fervent prayers and continued generous efforts to improve and promote Marian College. Please be assured that the Franciscan spirit will remain the driving force in advancing our mission to provide an education that profoundly transforms lives, society, and the world.”
