James E. Rogers will speak at Marian College’s spring commencement.
Rogers is the chairman of the board, president, and chief executive officer of Duke Energy, a North Carolina-based Fortune 500 electric power company that is the largest electricity provider in Indiana.
Rogers was recently named to the Global Elite list, a ranking of 50 influential individuals compiled by Newsweek magazine. He has more than 20 years of experience as chief executive officer in the electric utility industry and more than 40 years of experience serving on the boards of Fortune 500 companies. He is the former president and CEO of PSI Energy in Plainfield, Indiana. He has a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Emory University and a juris doctorate degree from the University of Kentucky.
The college’s 72nd commencement will take place on the morning of Saturday, May 9, 2009, at the Allen Whitehill Clowes Amphitheater.
