Maria Johns ’88 will perform on Saturday, January 24, 2009, at 7 p.m. at the Bishop Chartrand Memorial Chapel in Marian Hall.
She will also give her pro-life testimony. In 1994, she was pregnant with her third child when she was diagnosed with a terminal disease that required a lung transplant. She was told that the only way she could survive would be if she terminated her pregnancy, but she refused. In the end, a miracle occurred that is beyond medical explanation. Maria’s story is one of hope, faith, and life.
This event is hosted by Caitlin Johns, Maria’s daughter, and Meredith Riley; both are Marian College sophomores and San Damiano Scholars. The concert is open to the public at no charge, although there will be a baby item drive.
