As of September 2, 2008, there were 331 freshmen enrolled at Marian College—the highest freshmen enrollment number ever. Last year, there were 278 freshmen enrolled. Official enrollment numbers for the 2008-09 school year will be available September 15.
The new group of students is academically talented, as well. The class of 2012 has higher SAT scores and GPAs than previous classes. Many of them are also gifted athletes, artists, performers, and philanthropists.
To serve more students, Marian College has continuously improved and refined programs. The college has:
- expanded choices in curriculum; recent additions include a major and minor in photography, a motorsports management concentration, and a green chemistry major;
- continued to expand athletic programs, including the award-winning track cycling team and second-year football team;
- introduced a marching band and speech team to campus; and
- added new and talented members to our faculty.
New construction and renovations have added to students’ opportunities on campus, as well. The new residence hall, University Hall, now houses 189 students in suite-style rooms and includes features such as kitchenettes, living rooms, and a computer lab. And, the new multi-purpose athletic facility will be ready for action next fall.
