Marian College recently formed a student chapter of the Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM). Established in 1948, SHRM is the largest human resource professional association.
This chapter opens up new opportunities for Marian College students to research, publish, network, and receive internships. It is also one of the first organizations on campus to unite traditional students and students in Marian’s Adult Programs.
“Obtaining an official student chapter charter from the Society of Human Resource Management signifies the commitment and support of Marian College to prepare students to enter this ever-challenging profession,” says Kathy Marra-Wert, assistant professor of human resources at Marian College. “Our goal is to prepare each student with the education, professionalism, values, ethics, and responsibilities to assume the various positions in human resource management.”
