On Wednesday, April 30, Marian College will host Global Peace and Justice Day, organized by local community partners in collaboration with the Peace and Justice Studies Program at Marian College. The event is open to the public at no charge; registration is required. Teachers can also register a class.
Events include:
Keynote lecture: "A Theology of Peace Citizenship,” by Fr. John Dear, director of the Interfaith Fellowship of Reconciliation and 2008 Nobel Peace Prize nominee.
Keynote lecture: "Human Rights Violations: The Bush Legacy" by Dori Dinsmore, director of Midwest Amnesty International USA.
Film: Taxi to the Darkside, directed by Alex Gibney, a 2008 Academy Award winner for best documentary. (This film contains disturbing and graphic content. Minors should have parental guidance.)
