On Friday, October 17, 2008, the Marian College M-Club and Department of Athletics will host the annual M-Club Wall of Fame induction dinner, beginning with a reception at 6 p.m. Three Marian College alumni will be honored for their contribution to Marian College athletics.
Troy Drosche ’96 was a baseball player and four-year letter-winner at Marian College who served as a team captain during his junior and senior seasons. During his senior year, he was named to the All-Conference first team, earned Mid-Central College Conference Player of the Year honors, and was named NAIA All-American honorable mention. He is currently the head baseball coach and a business teacher at Avon High School in Avon, Indiana.
Julie Goodspeed-Chadwick ’00 was a cross-country runner who was named an NAIA Scholar-Athlete in 1998 and 1999 and earned All-Conference accolades and Most Valuable Player status in 1999. She was also a four-year letter-winner in track and field, and she earned NAIA Scholar-Athlete honors in 1999 and 2000 in track and field. During the NAIA National Championships in 2000, she placed 12th in the nation in the 10,000 meter run, setting a Marian College record that still stands.
Sr. Norma Rocklage, OSF ’60 is a major fan and supporter of Marian College athletics. She frequently attends athletic events to provide encouragement and support to student-athletes. In her roles as dean of academic affairs, vice president for mission effectiveness, and now executive director of education formation outreach, she has provided great leadership in articulating the mission of the college. As one former Knight said, “Sr. Norma is a champion of Marian College, Knights athletics, and all of mankind.”
The reception and dinner is open to the public; cost is $25 per person. To RSVP, contact Cassie Lomison at 317.955.6123 or email@example.com. Visit the Marian College web site for more information about Knights athletics, the M-Club, or the Wall of Fame.
