Mentor Program

After a year of coursework, candidates will participate in a two-year mentor program. This is designed like a medical residency with effective veteran administrators mentoring beginning school leaders on-site. Mentors provide academic support using the stages of school development rubric and the leadership scorecard worksheet to set goals for improvement.

Mentors observe, coach, and engage in critical conversations with leadership candidates in order to help them model personal excellence, hard work, integrity, courage, and respect for others. The focus of these critical conversations is to highlight the leader’s responsibility for student achievement and to sustain a sense of urgency to become internationally competitive. To be accepted into the program, each mentor will have to meet a rigorous set of qualifications, attend on-going training and be evaluated as to their effectiveness in helping the leadership candidates achieve successful results in their schools.
