Entry Qualifications
- Minimum GPA of 3.25 on a 4.00 scale and 1100 SAT or 24 ACT score
- Church or religious involvement
- Demonstrated service to others
- Demonstrated leadership
- Openness and desire to discern one's calling
- Open to working in faith based institutions post college graduation
- Committee approval
Program Academic Requirements
- Maintain a 2.50 GPA cumulative
- Successfully complete the THL 270 “The Franciscan Person” coursework
- Degree requirements/theological exploration of vocation curricular requirements
- Students majoring in Catholic studies, pastoral leadership, religious education, and theology need 36 hours of theology courses
- Education majors (12-13 credits of theology)
- Nursing majors (19-20 credits of theology)
- Business Major + Pastoral Leadership minor (22 credits of theology)
- Pastoral Music Ministry Major + Pastoral Leadership Minor (22 credits of theology)
- Sociology Major with a Peace and Justice Minor (22 credits of theology)
- All other majors need 22 credits pastoral leadership courses
- Successfully complete internship (junior + senior years)
Co-Curricular Requirements
- Participation in monthly meetings (3rd Sunday of month)
- Participation in annual retreats (August and March)
- Participation in monthly Faith In SHaring groups
- Perform 8 hours of service/month
- Complete monthly service report + Theological Reflections
- Attend Franciscan Speaker Series events (fall and spring)
- Attend the required Scholar Orientation Program (August)
- Successfully complete sophomore service project (Sophomore year)
- Yearly self-evaluation
Post Graduation Requirements
- Post graduate employment in faith based institutions or significant volunteer service in faith based settings
- Ongoing involvement in program
General Expectations
- Convey the teachings of the Roman Catholic faith by words and actions, demonstrating an acceptance of Gospel values and the Christian tradition
- Attend one religious service in addition to Sunday worship
- Spiritual direction
