Peace and justice events keep me connected to the global community. 

A Spiritual Retreat
The Sisters of St. Francis, Oldenburg established Marian University. The Peace and Justice Studies Program hosts an annual retreat to the Motherhouse in Oldenburg. Students meet with Franciscan Sisters, including Sr. Marge Wissman and Sr. Joanie Miller, who have close ties to the Peace and Justice Studies Program.

School of the Americas Vigil and Teach-In 
A contingent of Marian University students, staff, and professors annually travel to and camp out at the vigil at Fort Benning, Georgia, and the Ignatian Family Teach-In at the Columbus Convention Center. The goal of the trip is to enrich our understanding of Catholic social theology and recall historic events, such as the Guatemalan genocide. 

Global Peace and Justice Day
April 7, 2009
The Peace and Justice Studies Program annually hosts Global Peace and Justice Day at Marian University. The festival brings together national and regional activists and students. Last year this festival included keynote speakers, workshops, art displays, and two dramatic performances. Peace and Justice Studies students sit on the steering committee of the event and play an integral role in its planning and execution.

Peace and Justice Film Series
Residents of the Dorothy Day House for Peace and Justice and the Peter Maurin House for Peace and Justice host movie nights throughout the semester. Food, friendship, and discussion are included; open to he public at no charge.
