Matt Steward, M.B.A.
Matt Steward serves as a Partner at Westcomm managing public relations, public affairs and finance communications strategies for clients across a wide array of industries, including automotive, energy, technology, manufacturing and education. His client history includes British Petroleum (BP), Hershey, Indiana Pacers, BioCrossorads, Eli Lilly and AT&T.
He also serves as an Equity Partner for the Steward-Carter Group and for C3 Communications Inc, two businesses started by Steward and his business partners, and on the leadership team of Axia Technology Partners in Indianapolis, Indiana.
As the former Director of Motorsports Development for Governor Mitch Daniels and the State of Indiana, Steward coordinated with industry leaders to form the Indiana Motorsports Association and the motorsports caucus in the Indiana General Assembly. Steward is a political campaign expert, who has successfully managed three statewide campaigns.
He most recently earned a statewide victory with Governor Mitch Daniels, while serving as the campaign manager for Lt. Governor Becky Skillman, and celebrated another election victory with Indiana Attorney General Steve Carter. Steward served as the Director of Public Relations for the Office of the Indiana Attorney General. Steward met with and addressed the needs of dozens of national and state business associations affected by state legislative and policy decisions, representing the AG on government boards, helped establish the Do Not Call List, and managed a major gasoline price fixing investigation during a time of national fuel shortages.
Most recently, Steward has worked with international business clients in the automotive and new energy markets and managed client events, including a speech given by the Vice President following President Obama’s 2011 State of the Union Address and an event hosting China’s National Secretary of Commerce and other high ranking Chinese officials.
Steward teaches global marketing, international business and promotions in Marian University’s Adult Business Program. He shares his extraordinary experiences with his students in the classroom for real world knowledge not found in textbooks. The students regularly acknowledge what Matt brings to the table, stating that he “is a true, knowledgeable professional, and I feel like I got my monies worth” (MAP Student, 2012).
