Sister Stella Gampfer, an Oldenburg Franciscan, holds a bachlor's degree in English with a minor in History from Marian University. She earned an master of arts in English with a minor in Communications from the University of Notre Dame. Previously, she was the recipient of a Newspaper Fund Fellowship in Journalism at Marquette University.
Gampfer teaches both writing and literature courses including Basic English, Written Analysis of Literature, Shakespeare, and Contemporary Poetry and Drama. Among special topics courses she has taught are Fantasy and Science Fiction as well as a film course based on works of literature. Her interest in drama on the stage as well as the page has led her to participate in the annual Fall Break trip to Canada for the Stratford Shakespeare Festival since it was first offered to Marian University students, faculty, and staff in 1988. She presently co-directs the trip with the theatre department.
